jon millards gallery of slave labor

hello all
today is my first day of work! After an extensive tutorial by BMC, I am a JMAG expert. Now they only have to start paying me. Anyways, I am really bored right now and in pain b/c my sister gave me a monster lump on my temple, which has bgeen giving me monster headaches. I'm glad to be leaving that biotch behind for a few days, stupid hoe. I was so happy when I got down here this morning...Mara was in her fluffy bed watching family sitcoms--the usual! I wouldn't change anything at 468 sometimes. L Rose left before I got to give her some tips about surviving through coyote attacks and such, hopefully she has the skills to fight off all the crazies down there. I still have never been to the gorge, maybe all those folks will go on another trip soon. So after only a week or so of no school, I need to start doing something!! I want to go somewhere sunny really bad..get a tan, feel some sand and all that fun stuff. Hopefully it happens soon!! I also found a house for the five of us to live in this afternoon...did u hear that girls?!?! I found out house on oldham, so fill out the leases damnit! Ok...people are looking at me suspiciously wondering what I am typing behind my little makeshift screen, and I may run next door for some nuggets. Y'all should see more entries if I keep working here! :)
~mel mel

life

an update is long over due...i'm kind of jealous my friends get so much free time at their quality working establishment! Anyways, I have been in a hole this semester, and my one piece of advice is to never take more than 17 hours--never ever!! it's not worth it, trust me kids. Anyways, I just got back from a romantic rendezvous with Nicolas this weekend. It was pretty fun to get outside and do some stuff...not a lot of free land in lexington. I saw tons of stars, which really made my Friday, because I love looking up inot the sky & it sucks if nothing is up there. It just sucks that I travled close to 10 hrs roundtrip to do it all. I must agree w/ Bridget in that the weather is driving me to happyville!!!!! It's making me get excited about summer class, because it's only an hour and then you're free to do whatever you want in the sunshine!
funny story, today i got called out in my night class just like in third grade. My teacher said she was distracted by me & this boy's conversation & I could feel my face get all red--embarassing!! She's nuts. This kid was telling me how he wants to write a paper on how the Business English Program at UK is unethical, b/c it pretty much tells you to write the exact same way as laid out in this one gay course guide & if you stray from it whatsoever, you end up doing bad. I actually supported it, but this kid is crazy, so maybe after he takes his Adderall he won't have any crazy ideas anymore.
I missed out on all the drinking last night :( :( nothing new though w/ my slowly diminishing social life as exams approach. I hope someone wants to do something tonight though--this is like my first free time of the month! We'll see. Maybe I can go blow cash at wal-mart or something by myself. Actually that's not cool, I'm retracting that...I never want to be a wal-mart junkie! Anyways, I am counting down the days until my b-day, b/c it pretty much means I have no responsibilities for like a month! No getting up early b/c it sucks!! I love all the girls on here, wish i could write more often, but i'm off to the daily grind of homework
peace to the sisters
mel

living in the living room

i'm back in lex babes! last night was just another great, albeit crazy night with the girls, I don't know if I can give any of them up next semester. :( This week is going to start off way early for me...I have to work at 9 on Mon & Tues, then class starts 9 am on WED!! whoach. I just want to sit here in my living room and do nothing! It's super cute right now with lots of candles. Also, today marks the day when Teach for America takes over my life--weekly conference calls and sourcing and presenting to people I do not even know. The things we do for money!!! I'm trying to lose 7 pounds by the end of the month..I haven't really thought out how i am going to carry this out, but miami keeps me pretty freakin motivated. plus I have saved some money to go get clothes, so to go down maybe a size would be sweeet! well this is short and sweet...the update at the end of this week will blow your mind I'm sure!! I love being down here, even if I do miss Nicolas..anyways, peace out for the week--I'm headin to bedin!
--mel

new year and such!

so this is what it feels like in 2005! I am so optimistic for the year, and me and my dad are both just like yeah in 2005, blah blah, lose 5 lbs, go out west, make money & good grades etc. well i am really going to try hard this year! Everyone in my family is setting up pretty high goals..(one of mine is to keep up with the journal! haha) I missed everyone on new year's eve..it really sucked, I mean i love nick and ryan and jonathan & all those folks, but i am having park withdrawal!! maybe a little bit of prall too. who knows. for anyone going to miami with me..I've been checking out some sweet hotels, and I definitely want all of that settled by the end of the month..it really has the potential to be an awesome vacation! (something I haven't had in a while and am overdue for). I got really excited when I saw laura's resolution not to be treated shittily...I really can't even put in words how pissed i was when josh treated her like crap...it really took everything in me not to mutter a jackass comment but i did it. speaking of being treated like crap..nick's parents have again amazed me...he had to leave to go back to school under pretty shitty circumstances..which has happened the past 2 times he's been home now, and that REALLY took a lot for me not to say something, but I still might, b/c no one deserves to be treated badly! for any reason! i'll step off of my advocacy soap-box now :)
Christmas I got some nice gifts. but man, this year i was so stressed out getting everything for everyone, i know how adults feel now! I did give some pretty nice gifts though, so it was nice when people opened them, but I was talking to nick's grandma, and I mean, for the preparation I put into all of this, there's like a 2 minute climax & then you're just like ok pick up the wrapping trash and be done with it. she was having a sort of let down after the holidays i guess and i was too...guess we are 2 whiners. anyways, the past few days have simply consisted of working..this is my first break of over 24 hrs of work in a 3 day period :( and changing my schedule..I don't know who I am kidding, but I am not going to be able to go to class from 10-6 on tuesdays, guess i just do not value my education that much. so i've been getting on webuk and tweaking what i can..we'll see what the first day of classes holds in store for me. i can't wait to get back in lexington and for bridget & laura to tell me all about how they are not going to smoke..carly is going to magically transform into a homemaker, replacing brittany as the dishes queen, mara's resolution will be to become a part time yoga instructor so she can combine her two favorite things..stretching & the zen-like state by lighting candles and brittany's resolution will be to bring more baseball players over to the house!!
love you girls, just the way you are!
~mel~

p.s.--laura i was also stranded...it stressed me out so much i almost cried the 4th day...snow blows!! california!

:)

I have returned to the journal community!! The first round of holidays is over, it's been going on since last Sunday! Our turkey festivities here really turned out amazing, even I was surprised at the tastiness of everything and well, just how special I felt. I know we all can say we hang out w/ prall too much, but it really is always a good time, even if nothing special is going on. so anyways, like bridget drunkenly pronounced--good food, good friends, and GOOD TIMES!! This year I got to leave school Tuesday night, but as soon as I got there I had already wished I had stayed til Wed. but it was fun, went to Nick's early on Thursday for his thanksgiving--the best dish there had to be the sweet potatoes, they had an island kick w/ some pineapple rings & were delish. I also got to meet the new guy is mom is seeing, although apparently that won't be going much longer. then we headed back to my house to help set up for about an hour before my fam came over. Now that all of my aunts are empty-nesters, they are all turning to the bottle! It's a little freaky to hear your uncle talking about alchy like a typical UK student...for example, for breakfast on Thursday morning, he wanted to "get the party started early" so he had a Corona & a dill pickle?? I don't understand people with gray hair sometimes!! But I can't say much since I drank at thanksgiving too...some beringer sparkling white zin was the best thing there, along with some amazing rolls, that was the best dish at that thanksgiving. Finally on friday, i woke up early again to shower and get ready for Thanksgiving III. by then i don't think i cared about food, I just wanted to go back to bed. But nick's gma made some great desserts, the best dish for that. I dragged nick to the mall after some deal making just to pick up a few things while they were on sale. I skipped emily's--mistake! :( but i did get some quality time in with ellen & annie & sarah, and later w/ ryan at pizza hut. nick won yet another thing in that stupid claw machine....he's obsessed. everything is pretty much a blur until i finally made it back down here to discover that there was a winter wonderland set up inside 468 park! it was awesome, and there was candy-a-plenty! but anywho, i'm just sitting here rotting away until finals week, aiming for the ultimate A..we'll see how that goes. I'm glad to be back, even if our house did get stalked by a psycho old woman..the face still haunts me! As for now, I'm going to go enjoy the family room couches....ciao!

p.s.-me & mara made the best turkey out of the entire bunch of turkeys i ate!

later babes!
mel

post-election day

so bush has won...but something my prof. said today has me thinking about the next election. He was showing us all these articles he's saved blah blah, and all I could think about was that Bush will be handing over the reins when I am close to 24, and I just wondered, "What the hell will I be doing then???" Hopefully I will have some job prospects if I am still in school, or a job if I am not. I wondered a lot of other stuff too though, like will I have my own apt? could i maybe be planning or wedding? or what if i was a baby's mama?? It's all crazy. My mind has been drifting a lot these days b/c I have been doing lots and lots of reading in preparation for the crazy tests of november 8-16. Looking at my calendar sometimes makes my head spin. But anywho, it is finally getting cold. That means thanksgiving is on the way! I have a really fond place in my heart for thanksgiving, it's just great, except if you're the one cooking or doing the dishes, or a few years ago, peeling a 50 POUND SACK OF POTATOES! that is one feat I hold under my belt. but i did end up getting an engraved potato peeler out of it--pretty cool huh? Plus I like my family, mara said it best last night...parents "have" to love you! they just do! that's cool.
I am going home this weekend, 2nd in a row, for nicolas martin stamates' birthday, he's getting old. I hope it will be a lot of fun, but honestly, I have too much to get accomplished up there, that I know I will feel rushed & cranky come Sunday. Brittany just came down from her lair! haha those damn stairs are soooo squeaky, I just hope the one day they break I will be on them so I can sue for mass dough & be able to own this house for free for forever. Then I can rent it out to unsuspecting college kids for a high price, and not tell them about the mouse that lives under the stove & the ghosts that haunt it!
Well hopefully this has been sufficient to impress that one girl that lives upstairs...LAURA! But I've had enough of this cyber world, off to the real one! :)
later tater
mel

Fall Break Recap

hola roomies! happy to be back. i might as well sum up my weekend, since everyone else did. Thursday, I was already home at 12:30, when one special roomate was just having her first class! My mom was genuinely happy to see me, and I think she was really upset that i was leaving that day! it was sweet, she was organizing stuff, I think she misses me & allison because we give her something to do, and we break the awful silence of an empty home. haha my dad told me my mom was yelling for him but it kept echoing through the house and he couldn't find her. I don't think they're enjoying the empty nest thing as much as they said they would. anyways, I made it to nelsonville ohio around 5, making only ONE wrong turn-super! Nick was superexcited, since I had fibbed & told him I'd be there at 9, but then on the way I ended up confessing I'd be there in an hour. He gave me the biggest hug & introduced me to all the new freshman on his floor. The best thing about his dorm: his message board is an empty toilet seat! people just write on the lid, it's funny. I want to do that for one of our bathrooms, like a little message board to say what's going on! Pretty much, I had an uneventful, but very very fun couple of days with my boyfriend, we did a lot of fun little things, and I really felt genuinely cared for. My favorite moment was when we were sitting overlooking this river talking about the future...needless to say I had fun. I scrambled back on Saturday with my sister following me (she went up to Ohio U. to visit a friend) and my mom was once again excited to see us. The rest of the time was jsut hanging out..got up early for church this morning, and was a little overdressed due to the lack of wardrobe at home. But, I made it back here around 4:30, with a plethora of items in tow. I should be set til the end of the year thankfully. I just cannot wait for the holidays! I hate cold weather, but they always mean Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are all on the way! It will be an interesting couple of months, I just know it. But for now, it's time to buckle down, I have two jobs now, so I have to start pumping up my time-management skills!
Happily in my home away from home,
mel~

I will be gone from lovely Lexington at approx. 11 am thursday, before some of my roomies are even up!
hey all :)

hello girls, and any perspective boys who may be reading. :) Today is the start of a week of hell, from tests (3) to a paper, on top of reading and other hw i am sure. Oh well. The more I get into biology though, I kind of start dragging my feet towards a medical career...I have enough trouble talking about my own personal problems anyways, so I don't know how I would convince someone to tell me theirs. I don't know, it's just food for thought I guess. I have found a real passion in the past few days though, mentoring/tutoring everyone around me! Bridget pointed out to me in the line at Starbucks that I get too into other people's grades, I don't know, maybe I could create a job called personal cheerleader? My sister surprised me today around 6, dropping by the house to tell me that the first calc test wasn't exactly peachy. That sucks. Luckily I've never had that horrible gut feeling yet where I know I've definitely screwed myself over. I hope I never do! Anywho, I am starting a food journal (not online!) to see when & what I eat, basically I want to find out if I am a boredom/social eater or not, I know it sounds gay, but it would be good to know. I am excited for fall break, I have really been missing Nick lately! this could be due to these chilly september nights, but I'm not for sure. I am still very looking forward though to one last great weekend with the girls before I go to Hocking U. thank god tomorrow is thursday, even though my weekend will be full of work, at least I don't have to stare at the faces of Dr. Wilke, Winterbottom! and other crazy honors children, but I will miss the faces of Daniel and Dr. Desantis..he's so dreamy! haha Well this was it for my study break, wish me luck tomorrow!
--MEL--

new bar-addict

wow, just read my last entry, written in a drunken sleep stupor. If anyone wanted to know, we did make it to the party, but carly & i ended up bailing out about 10 min. into it. My first time at a bar was quite the experience, I'm obsessed now with finding all the deals at the bars...it's just, the drinks are SO good, you get to try a lot of different stuff for not as much $$$, and the atmosphere is great-people always want to talk and even if you don't want to talk you can just stand there, take in the band & be quiet & mysterious. Another great experience that has been brought to me is the viewing of a certain show, "Sex and the City". I can honestly say it is a show that has true devotion from me. It's the only one I've been very excited to watch. I still have a special place in my heart though for the Donald, and his catch phrase, "you're fired," which I was a little bummed about missing this past week. Hopefully they will show some highlights before tonight's show however. This house is just so much fun for me because I am discovering more and more ways to have fun. TV, dancing, even cooking my own meals are fun. It has made me wonder if I could ever live on my own, and I know anyone else I ever live with will always be compared to these girls. I'm just having so much fun! School is about to get intense these next couple weeks, so I'm trying to get everything in order, so I can keep having more fun. I wish I would've taken 14 hrs every semester, it's the perfect class load. Right now I'm going to hang out before my show and before Hoosier Daddy!
-mel mel
p.s.-saw my sister today, she was really nice, even if she was a bit embarassing, screaming "i love you mel mel" as I was going into the chem-phy building. But we hugged!?!?!?! who knew? maybe my wicked stepsister is turning over a new leaf.
p.p.s-thanks to all who prayed for it to rain after 3 p.m., I made it home safe & dry.

I just came home from a lovely night at the bar and right now, half our house is puking. I just handed bridget a hair tie, shorts and a bottled water, I don't know what's going on right now, cuz she's still on our front porch but oh well. I came home to find my poor laura getting sick in the downstairs bathroom. my heart went out to her b/c she had been getting sick the whole time while we were all having a good time at the bsar. She even had to walk home by herself! sad sad story. I had to pee real bad so I went upstairs to find brittany hugging the toilet. now she has the hiccups, it's just crazy! I had to pee on the deck out back because there was no other suitable place for me to place my bum. colin sang tonight, he was really good, I am impressed with that little kalamazoo boy. reid, colin and steven are having a party around 3 am when they are done playing. I hope I can stay awake for it. I am getting the munchies right now. ok i am done. more to be said on this subject later
PEACE OUT
mel hudson

school is kool

I am at UK, and it is very action-packed. The first couple days I got down here though I was a little bit homesick because there wasn't as much action as I had predicted, but Nick came down and fixed all of that. We have been dating for a year! It was great that he got to be down here for awhile & get to see a day in the life of his girlfriend. As exciting as it was supposed to be, it just felt like another regular day, which shows me that I am truly comfortable around that boy--he's the best! There's been plenty o' house drama though...from a citation, to the neighbors, to me having a little damage done to my vehicle...$200 minimum to fix :( oh well, that's life I guess. Today I used mass add/drop time and now have a light schedule that I am very happy with. I pretty much go from 10-3 with about a 2 hr break around 12 or 1 depending on the day. Other fun stuff is that I realize my room has some fun advantages, one being I never really hear anyone and the other being that I can spy on my roomies' shackmates and give them a thumbs up or down..I've spied on quite a few people already! It sucks when the trash or the street cleaners come though, I ought to give them a noise citation. I haven't done much this week, just the usual back-to-school errands. Right now I am spying on my neighbor bending over. haha he's gay and wearing a pink shirt & tight jeans. hahaha ok well anyways, my big process now is getting a job since I got a horrible horrible rejection from the UK dept. of chemistry. meanies! That and playing Dr. Mel to my dearest roomate, Bridget Marie. Thanks for reading folks! I am going to go party tonight!
-mel-

it always works out

If anyone read my last entry, I said i was glad I wasn't going to florida with my friends.....now I am really glad! They are going to get hit by Hurricane Charley! whew! Now onto a funnier story..Nick and I were attacked by a motorcycle gang last night on the expressway-it was scary!!Nick drove by one of them in his mom's minivan & said like, you don't have nothing on me & sped in front of him and that ignited the whole group. The one guy he yelled at revved up his motorcycle and rode on one wheel, which he is really stupid for doing b/c if he would have tipped backward he would have instantly died & then all the others got behind him & covered all three lanes & went 55mph, so then they officially pissed every car on the road off b/c the speed limit was 65. So finally, we try to get off on Turfway and they cut Nick off & he had to slow down to like 50 just to get off the expressway--anyways, lesson learned: People on motorcycles are 10 kinds of crazy, so avoid them whenever possible! ESPECIALLY don't pass them in a minivan. Another fun thing..Nick's mom is going on her 2nd date with this guy from their church and she keeps asking us for things to do! I think it's cute..even adults get bored up in NKY! I am moving down in one week, and I could not be more excited, this week is going to seem so long, I just know it.But I can't wait! Also, Laura will be back before tomorrow's sunrise, and we can once again have rendezvous & such, along with all the other roomates! yay! off to the pool though.....last 7 days of work!
p.s.-bridget, too bad you are out of town, there is a weinerdog race at river downs this saturday & it's free & you get to bring your dog as well-I know you and copper & schnapps would have enjoyed it. :)
-mel-

relief! and it's not from alka-seltzer

AHH........ as bad as this may be to say, I am really relieved that I am not going on vacation with my friends. I am content just working since I really don't have that much time left up here, and I was definitely not kosher with coming back from florida the 18th of august--too close and i still have to get my damn bed. Speaking of my bed..my mother is being so ridiculous about it (yeah this is my journal so i am writing whatever stupid stuff i want to...you can skip it if it gets too gay)--she is like insisting i get it from dillards b/c she has a charge card there...WHAT THE HELL MOM! and the funny thing is, she tells me too look at like $600 beds, but if it's from dillards she doesn't give a shit how much it is, just doesn't make sense really at all, spending $1000 there is just the same as spending $1000 anywhere else. also, she is in NO hurry to get the damn thing-arrrrrgh! I am hoping to just go buy a scratch off ticket & win like $10,000 so I can buy the stuff myself and not have to wait for ms. slow. whew! k i'm done. On to other things: I LOVE working at panera! for some reason it seems like ten times easier, and i get out 45 minutes before i ever got out last summer, plus i am respected b/c i am the prettiest girl that works there ever. just kidding, but now i am older than most of the kids there, so it's really nice, they can't fuck with me. I have taken on a new admiration for the show SEX AND THE CITY. Allison always got pumped when a new season came out and bought the DVDs, and i used to think she was crazy, but i've been watching them, they are a nice little 35 minute mental break, and they are funny! I am hoping to steal them for our house. :) I think that is it...i am praying they do not turn our electric off on august 4th-you will have to check it out when you get there carly! Also, last night I saw Napoleon Dynamite, and although it didn't have a point, I thought it was really funny-two thumbs up if you guys are bored and want to spend $9 (that is for 1 adult ticket at the levee...meaning $18 for two people-makes me sick!)
peace out!
mel

hey girlies..I've been pulling in the hours at panera & ft. mitchell but tomorrow I get an off day, so I hope it doesn't rain. I just want to be at school, I cannot stand my bratty, selfish, self-absorbed 17 year old sister stealing EVERYTHING i own!!!!!! you name it, she's stolen it from me. what a cheap bastardette. Anywho, I am going to West Virginia with my family next weekend, we're going back to Lonnie's roots pretty much, should be very low-key. BUT I am very very excited because my parents let Nick come with us!! That's a big step for them, b/c they aren't usually real big on having other people come along for family vacations, don't know why, but they just are. so this is exciting, I am sure there will be an update later. About the house...it's going to be great I know it..Molly Halpin was at panera today and said she can't wait to see it, which just made me even more excited when I thought about all the fun people we will get to invite over, and all the gay people we can lock out@! I am going back to school either the 20 or 21....y'all better be there!!!!
ready to move in,
mel

good afternoon

just got done with my swim lessons for the day...the water was freezing!!! I didn't want to get in, but of course, Peter decided to be difficult today-go figure. My weekend of family parties is over..friday was a suprise 60th b-day for my aunt, saturday was jeni's mom's 50th & lastly on Sunday I went to a Church/family gathering of Nick's that was way out on this gorgeous farm in Ohio, I had a good time, especially because I was planning on not even going. Now I can start freaking out that school is going to start soon! And I have nothing! Luckily everything is paid (unless we get any new bills) so all my $$ from this summer will most likely be blown at Target, Inc. Also, I've realized that I am really only going to work like 10 days the rest of the summer b/c I am going on 2 vacations.......HOLD THE PHONE!!!!!!! yay! work just called and the pool is closed, therefore I guess I am only working like 9 days the rest of the summer. :) Anyways, I will hopefully be in the house the 21st, so get excited. I am so ready, and the more I think about I seriously just giggle b/c I know it's going to be crazy and fun all at the same time...I just wish I could have gotten there this weekend! Anyways, I'm going to celebrate my day off by working out so I can be sexy for my roomates....tata!
bye ladies
-mel-

what you've always wanted...

my journal entry! I am alive people, and employed at panera now, so hopefully good-bye riverbend. I'm sort of still bitter right now, I was supposed to go to cumberland this weekend but all the lovely bitches I work with at the pool and take shifts for would not cover one of my shifts-and we're talking really easy hours here! I wanted to cry. oh well. I'm getting more and more excited as move in day approaches....i am tired of living with the hudsons! I want to live with my friends! I've been taking a bigger interest in movies lately..tried to watch MONSTER with nick last night, it didn't go over too well, we only got like 15 minutes into it and he said he couldn't watch anymore, and i was kind of in shock at the one part we were viewing, so we took it out. yeah, that's all i have to say about that. I got a call from carly the other day too announcing her arrival back in NKY..my cellphone was surely missing those text msgs & lovely voice messages.Anyways, I am going to start going on a buying bingefest...I'm getting a gadget for my laptop and like bridget, a couple CDs, i know the 50 first dates soundtrack should be in there for sure, my mom is taking me down to lexington to get my bed, lazarus is having a big home sale this weekend which means nice sheets & a cool comforter! yay o yay Well right now I am making a lunch delivery to mr. nick hudson mwhahaha j/k.....and then off to work out & work..miss you all!
-mel-

Here's a bulletin for everyone if you didn't already know, Lauren Schawe and beloved Johnny have been officially dating since Friday....anyone want to start a house pool on how long this thing will last? j/k, that was mean. Well I am on my way to having 3 jobs-ft. mitchell, riverbend and now back to crazy panera. Just got my dorm deposit back today too..they took some money out! dicks! What can you do. My mom & Allison are at her 2-day conference today and keep calling me and asking me questions, it's sweet. Makes me feel really old though. I'm going to go take a shower now though, so I will have another update later.

party like it's 1776

the 4th has come and gone, and it was nice! I haven't worked since saturday, which has been a great time. Saturday I didn't really do anything patriotic, even though there was a lot going on, just hung out at leigh ann's & drank some since her parents are gone for the week. Nick and I spent the night but I had to take him home at like 7:30 AM, he paid for it though-one panera blueberry bagel w/ raspberry cream cheese. yum. Hopefully I will be working there soon, and making way better money than riverbend and cutting my commute time in half. Anyways, for the actual 4th, I went to my aunt's wonderful house/mini-farm in Indiana. It was the most fun I had had in a while. Nick drove in his 1960 truck, and my whole family stared at him b/c they were all like hmm...somebody's lost! But then i popped out too. We fished, played cornhole (nick won), basketball (I won), and played with my uncle's new pet duck! it is the shit! I also got to play with all my toddler cousins, watching them chase the duck and have all this imaginary stuff in their heads...they had some great lines about life though. :) After the fireworks, where a huge chunk of ash blew over and landed on me, we headed out b/c it looked like it was going to rain bigtime. It was nice, I knew Nick had fun too, especially b/c he got a big catfish and all my uncles were giving him a slap on the back and they all thought his truck was cool too. However, the fun did NOT end on the 4th. On Monday, I dreamed up a great idea to go to the BEACH waterpark, b/c i seriously had not been there in forever and Nick had never been. I had a lot of fun, and only one wedgie! But I had forgotten that a lot of people were off work, and it was way too crowded for my taste. Too many kids bumping into you and some weird mexican teenager saying HOWDY to me and then rubbing his 'stache. Hmm..... Well not too much left now, just trying to work major hours & pay rent off early so I can spend the rest of my $$ however I want! I should be having 2 new cousins-once-removed..just learned that phrase! (my cousin's kids)holly & jen were both due over the weekend, but if you didn't know, the first child you have is usually a late baby, and they are both proving that theory true! So by the end of the week I'll post the names. That's all, but one last thing for the notre-damers...if anyone got the alumni newsletter, that reunion of all notre dame graduates sounds like a blast! Just Kidding! oh nda never ceases to amaze me w/ all the crazy stunts they pull. Until then, everyone be safe, and if carly or brittany would please make their donations of $3.31 to the black jesus foundation c/o mel hudson, it would be greatly appreciated! :)
off to the pool for some work!
-mel-

Waa....I have been up since before 9, since my sister had to wake everyone up since she was going to court..selfish $#@%& Anyways, I got to see my lovely bank teller for today was payday and have just finished a lovely plate of french toast and resting up before working at RB tonight for Tim McGraw. I am still working on those Kenny tickets Bridget, I promise. I'm buttering up those maintainence boys like an ear of corn. Today is exciting though b/c my mom finally backed down and is letting me go to san francisco, she didn't want me to go b/c she thought there'd be drinking and what not, upon which I informed her that nick is 21 and that could happen at any point. So now she is picking nicer flights & helping me pay a bit-cha ching! Hope everyone remembered to send in rent today, my bank acct. is probably shedding a few tears over that one. p.s.-if anyone is going down to the house anytime soon, let me know, I left some papers down there!
Hope it gets sunnier......
mel

THE update

So here it is.......FINALLY. I guess I don't update b/c we all know what i am doing-working! LIfeguarding, Riverbend and Nick Martin Stamates take up most, if not all of my time. Oh well, it will be fun to have the $$ for school to buy lots of...drinks! I miss everyone! I am trying to get more sleep so I can start to go out more, I need to take baby steps to get back in the swing of being a real partyer, which I used to be. Too bad I can't see Laura though...and speaking of Laura, you get a spank for leaving the air on! Today at 11 am, Carly and I headed down to Lexington in the Bravada, to drop off a lovely coffee table and desk set, and to close up/unplug/turn off as much as possible, just to keep the bills low. It was pretty successful, I saw Kyle Wolff down there too. Anyways, we ended with lunch at Ramsey's and then a sleeepy ride home, luckily I didn't get really droopy-eyed until I was in my driveway. I got to see Dodgeball last night, it was pretty funny, but Ben Stiller could have done a little better, I was laughing the whole time though--guess you just can't have humor AND plot development all in one. Nothing else too interesting, had to attend my sister's and my cousin's graduation parties, but I couldn't drink b/c my mother is still psychotically against alcohol, but in a way I think she is like that because she knows as soon as I walk out the door she really has no control, so I think she is just clinging to the little bit of control that she does have, and I blame Allison for making her that way. haha, sorry for going off on a tangent there. Anyways, the weeks are getting even busier as RB has a bunch of concerts coming up, which I am trying to juggle with lifeguarding as best as humanly possible. This summer is flying by, and if there is one thing I am missing out on, it is working out! I've only gotten to work out a few times, due to exhaustion...I cannot wait to get back down to Park Ave. and go to the Johnson Center and burn some calories. Here's some random facts to catch everyone up on:
Nick & I have been dating 10 months!
I now have a bed/couch and desk in my room!
Dennis put a lock on my room!
I am going to San Francisco and West Virginia in JULY, and to New Smyrna Beach, FL in August.
I am obsessed with Carly's big dog!
I really need a haircut!
I have a nice tan!
I sold a book on EBAY for 10 bucks!
That's really all, excited to hopefully see Carly and Bridget, Tara and whoever comes to Emily's tonight. Been wondering about Mara too....? I promise I will do this more often everyone!

It is hot outside! Yesterday I worked at the pool all day--yes it's amazing how much pink lemonade one can drink in 10 hours. Nothing too amazing as usual...finally got something substantial in my room on friday! After a little sweat, me Laura & Nick got my baby couch into my room, even pulled out the bed just to be sure we hadn't broken anything. Everything's held up fine--so dont worry! There was a lot of salt on the counter though......haha. tequila shots-they're the best. anywho, it was very fun hanging out with laura and taking her shortcut way to kroger. Now it's back to business up here. My father's day present came in so as soon as I finish making the other one, lonnie will be set--a monet print for his office & a little organizer I am making! :) I have to work a concert tonight, but clean lots before I go--Allison's party is on Sat, so my mom is going a little nutso. Also (and only Carly will probably enjoy this..) I got three very sassy, very adult shirts from B.Moss--they are hott! Wish I had a digital cam so I could show you guys. But that's it for now, finally got my car back after the rear ending, so I'm appreciating it and just working on a fabulous summer tan.
Later!@
p.s.--everyone owes me $3.31, and could someone tell Brittany? Still haven't gotten her cell phone # in mine.
mmmmmmmmmel

hey!!

A lot of stuff going on...that new job, yeah well it SUCKED! I didn't even work a day, the people were so freaky that when I got there, I talked to some security guards for about 5 minutes & found out that the whole time I'd pretty much be cutting boxes, I acted like I was going to my car for something and just drove off into the sunset. The people there just weirded me out bigtime, especially all of the toothless grins I got, so I think I am just going to stick to Riverbend, a nice safe place that doesn't give its employees knives. Anyways, my paychecks from lifeguarding are rolling in, and I finally worked a dayshift..which means I have a little tan! yay! Hey if anyone could post Dennis's cell phone # and p.o. address, it would be greatly greatly appreciated. I sent rent to the address on their website, dont know if it's right though. Lifeguarding is so much fun, and Emily Summe works there! which makes it a whole lot more fun. I just like how our boss is laid back and I get a free meal everytime I work. It's truly lovely. Hmm..what else is new..my dog has been acting a lil nuts lately and barking ALOT. I dont know why though silly animal. haha I make Nick take care of Nick the dog though and tell him it's a test to see how he will handle kids, it's a great little game. Also, I got a sleek black desk for my room and a coffee table for our family room down in Lex, it's nice and not too big..exactly what we need! Summer has been very relaxing, and I love it, especially how the sun clears up skin--it's a miracle worker! But I'm off to run some errands and chill out..later guys!
--your fav roomie--
mel

I'm hanging out here while the rents are putting together a nice holiday cookout before I have to go to work. This week I finally find out what my big job is from the hiring agency, so I'll keep you all posted. So far I love working at the pool, really easy, really relaxed, and those free dinners are the best! Yesterday I spent a good chuck of time at Big bone, seeing nick & playing Bingo & watching a concert. It was fun. If anyone saw the storms last night, they were really cool--lots of lightning! It was nice seeing it all unfold from the big, waterproof! windows in my family room. Anyways, burgers are calling, and I can't say no! Hope everyone had a good weekend........give me a call y'all!
-mel-
